NZIFF 2022 Ngā Whanaunga Māori Pasifika Shorts

On Saturday 30th July at ASB Waterfront Theatre, we presented this year's Ngā Whanaunga Māori Pasifika collection to the Auckland audience.
Six short films from Aotearoa and the Pacific were selected by co-curators Leo Koziol (Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Rakaipaaka), Director of the Wairoa Māori Film Festival, and Craig Fasi (Niue), Director of the Pollywood Film Festival.
Those six short films are:
Perfect Storm by Morag Brownlie, Smog by Alex Liu, Raids by Jade Jackson, Burning of the Gods by Karin Williams, A Morning with Aroha by Nicholas Riini, and The Difference Between Pipi & Pūpū by Tajim Mohammed-Kapa.

Audience members at Auckland's screening had the chance to vote for the winner of the Letterboxd Audience Award, a cash prize of $1000. Audience members in Wellington will vote when Ngā Whanaunga Māori Pasifika Shorts screens at The Roxy Cinema August 13th.
