NZIFF 2024 Artistic Director Paolo Bertolin chats to director and screenplay writer Nehir Tuna about his debut feature Dormitory / Yurt, screening in Auckland and Wellington as part of the festival’s Fresh Competition strand.

This rebellious debut plasters teenage angst across a politically and religiously charged critique of the systems forced upon children before they’ve even had the chance to form their own opinions.
