David Gordon Green
Undertow director and screenwriter David Gordon Green was born in Arkansas, raised in Texas and currently lives in New Orleans. He studied at the North Carolina School of the Arts. He began his filmmaking career with the highly acclaimed George Washington (NZFF 2001), which he wrote and directed. It was awarded Best First Film by the New York Film Critics Circle, won The Discovery award at The Toronto Film Festival, and landed on the 10 best lists of Roger Ebert, The New York Times, and Time Magazine. He followed this with All The Real Girls, (NZFF 2003). The film garnered two jury awards at the Sundance Film Festival 2003 and was selected for the Berlin Film Festival 2003. Undertow is his third film.
